The ‘Cover Layers’ library includes modules for simulating soil covers over the source in order to calculate resulting radon exhalation rate and concentration in air, as well as the external dose rate above the cover. The respective modules are described in the following table.
Module | Description |
Cover Layer | Module allows simulating soil covers over the source in order to calculate resulting radon exhalation rate and concentration in air above the cover, as well as the external dose rate. Radon exhalation to atmosphere is modeled using diffusion model described in [IAEA, 2013]. External dose calculations are based on methodology described in [Kamboj et al., 1998]. |
House Slab | This module allows simulating the effect of the house slab residing on contaminated soil layer on radon diffusive flux to house and external dose rate above the slab. It implements models similar to “Cover layer” module described above. |
