Toolbox features

The toolbox makes it possible for AFRY Intelligent Scenario Modelling users to directly access a parameter database from within AFRY Intelligent Scenario Modelling.

Connecting AFRY Intelligent Scenario Modelling to a parameter database has the following advantages:

• Centralized handling of parameter values
• Separation between modelling and parameter data collection
• Parameter naming consequent between modellers in the same project
• Traceability (-“who is responsible for this value”)
• Faster model development by using the quick-import tools
• Quality assurance

Important: You should purchase this toolbox only if you already have access to an existing instance of the “Facilia Parameter Database (*)” or if you plan to set one up.

*Facilia Parameter Database (additional software)

The Facilia Parameter Database is a relational database schema for storing, managing and quality assuring parameter values. The database can contain parameter data (values, probability density functions and statistics) as well as lookup table values and settings. The database package includes a user interface for database users and administrators.

Important:

• The Facilia Parameter Database package is not included in the setup of the AFRY Intelligent Scenario Modelling and Toolboxes and must be installed separately.
• Please, make sure you have access to an external instance of Facilia Parameter Database or contact us if you have purchased the Parameter Database Toolbox and need to set up your own instance. The database is built on Microsoft SQLServer Express and can be installed either on a server or locally on same machine as AFRY Intelligent Scenario Modelling.
• A new installation of Facilia Parameter Database itself does not contain default values, but once you install the database you can start creating your own set of parameter data as well as lookup table values and settings.
