Commercial vs. Academic license

Commercial

The software may be installed on one computer per purchased license and can be used of any number of people, as long as the number of people does not exceed the number of purchased licenses.

Academic

AFRY Intelligent Scenario Modelling Academic Licenses are intended to be used solely for teaching and research at non-profit academic institutes. They are not intended for use by research institutions that are private- or government-sponsored.

AFRY Intelligent Scenario Modelling Academic Licenses cannot be used for consulting or other commercial purposes. To use AFRY Intelligent Scenario Modelling on these types of projects, you must purchase a commercial license.

An academic license has no limitations in functionality or support but is offered with a discount.

Subscription-based licensing

Subscription

The subscription-based licensing model allows users to pay either monthly or annually for access to the complete set of software features and ongoing updates. Organizations can only opt for annual subscriptions.

An annual subscription includes a perpetual fallback license, which permits continued use of a designated software version indefinitely. However, to receive upgrades beyond this version, an active annual subscription is required.

The subscription prices listed on this page apply to the first year of a yearly subscription. From the second consecutive year onward, you receive a 30% discount, which increases to 50% after the third year, provided the subscription is renewed on time.

Perpetual fallback license

If you buy a yearly subscription or keep renewing your monthly subscription for 12 months in a row, you’ll receive a perpetual fallback license after completing the 12 months.

Legacy perpetual license (no longer in use)

A legacy perpetual license entitles the customer to use AFRY Intelligent Scenario Modelling indefinitely. Upgrades and support are provided through a Software Maintenance Service, valid for one year. This service must be renewed annually at 35% of the license price.

Individual vs. Institutional license

Individual

The software may be installed on one computer per purchased license and can be used of any number of people, as long as the number of people does not exceed the number of purchased licenses.

Institutional

An institutional license allows up to 20 installations of AFRY Intelligent Scenario Modelling on the condition that all users are employees of the same company.

An institutional license cannot be obtained on-line.

Software Maintenance Service

Included in annual subscriptions

AFRY Intelligent Scenario Modelling licenses entitle the customer to receive software upgrades and software updates during the software maintenance service term (AFRY Intelligent Scenario Modelling Software License Agreement).

During the protection period, the AFRY Intelligent Scenario Modelling licenses also entitle the customer to get help with questions on:

Basic modelling

Free online training on AFRY Intelligent Scenario Modelling

During the term of the Software Maintenance Service, the customer has also access to a free online training course that takes place at least twice a year.

Maintenance service renewal

For AFRY Intelligent Scenario Modelling Legacy Perpetual License, the software maintenance service must be renewed annually through a 1-Year Maintenance Plan. Renewal is only possible if the maintenance service is active.

Cost of 1-Year Maintenance Plan: 35% of the license price.
